Project Details

This full-home main living area, renovation in Kemptville, is a true transformation.

We completely gutted the entire core living space down to the studs, by first removing the 1976 Kitchen, living room and dining room areas and completely rebuilt the entire space from scratch. We took down the non-load bearing walls separating the living/dining room from the kitchen. We also removed the old wood-stove from the centre of the house and closed up the roof where it used to be.

In the dining room we took out the window and added a 6′ patio door for access to the newly built back deck – built by Total Home.

Finally, we removed the old 3 season sun-porch that originally shared a roof with the rest of the house, and rebuilt this sun-room addition to be an extension of the interior living space. This required that we remove the load baring wall between the sun-porch and living room, which was the original exterior wall to the front of the house. We installed a 22′ beam into the roof and opened the entire space up.

The sun-room, became a highly functional addition to the front of the house and greatly expanded the interior footprint.
