This was a clean slate renovation. The basement had not been finished in any way prior to the renovation. We had to map out a plan for each room that was to be built within the basement footprint and build accordingly.

Our home project was extensive and certainly drew upon the myriad skills of Gilbert Lutes of ‘Total Home.’ He did at times call upon outside, known and carefully selected tradesmen when necessary, such as electrical work and painting. They were all thorough and expert at their craft.
I was not around much of the time. Gilbert was given a key and came and went as time and supplies permitted and sent us photos of completed work. I had very little reason to tell him what to do and if he was at all unsure, he would ask if I had any particular wishes.
For brevity’s sake I won’t supply a list of all the various skills required for our project, but believe me, Gilbert has many. He does not cut corners, he knows his trade better than anyone I have so far in life hired, and as icing on the cake also has an admirable artistic sense. Even though there were some hiccups with completion time, they were in the end easily overcome. If you want expertise and excellence – hire him!
