When I am in a Staging Consultation, many of my clients ask me why I choose Grey’s or neutral’s as my ‘Go To’ paint colours. The simple answer is that they are the perfect Move in Ready Paint colour.
When you look at the Living Room above, grey can become that one colour that tends to work with so many other colours. Therefore it is the perfect Move in Ready colour.
No matter, which colour is your buyer’s design style, chances are; a neutral grey will work.
Grey adds an air of sophistication and modernizes a space, no matter how old or new your house is. This Living Room is in a very old home in New Edinburgh and still the colour works beautifully to bring this old gem up to date and still look timeless.
Because grey can lend a nice balance between looking sometimes grey and sometimes beige, it is super neutral in its diversity, as seen here in this classic BM colour.
You would have to be careful with grey though, as it will always have an undertone such as purple, brown, green or blue. Finding a neutral grey is best option.
Grey is one of the perfect colour choices to neutralize bold colours. It helps to soften the contrast. You can add grey and this will help to tone things down so the entire scheme works in harmony instead of the contrasting colour appearing abrupt and visually loud.
This neutral beige tone works so well in this child’s room where we decided to create this amazing Military theme. This is a great example of how neutrals can create that calming effect even with bolder colours, and colour patterns.
How do you feel about neutral’s? Are you willing to explore working with these amazing colour pallets in your home?
I hope you have found this article informative and now have a new understanding as to why Grey and Neutral colours, can do wonders for you when selling your home or in considering updating your colour scheme.
As always, helping you in caring for your Total Home!
